Hi there. My name is Andreas Herten and since 1 November 2015 I’m working on accelerating different kinds of applications on GPUs in the scope of the NVIDIA Application Lab (nval) of the Jülich Supercomputing Centre of Forschungszentrum Jülich.

I started there right after doing my doctorate in particle physics at the Institute for Hadron Physics, also of Forschungszentrum Jülich. My thesis is titled »GPU-based Online Track Reconstruction for PANDA and Application to the Analysis of D→Kππ« and you find all relevant information (including a PDF of the work) at thesis.andreasherten.de.

As of writing these lines, I intend to document the work I’m doing in the lab on this blog, including snippets, results, and useful hints. You, dear reader, know better if I succeeded.
